OTA Insight is a leading business & market intelligence SaaS provider for the hospitality industry. Our clients include individual hotels and major chains like Hilton, Accor, IHG, etc). Today OTA Insight is present in more than 185+ countries around the world and has more than 55,000 partners.

As part of the Engineering team, the Analytics Engineering team is based in our Ghent office and responsible for our internal Business Intelligence solution. The purpose of the team is to enable decision makers to be data-driven by providing the required data insights in a timely manner. As the lead of this team, you should set your team members up for success by making sure:

  • The time they spend on projects is proportional to the value of those projects

  • You create a safe environment in which everyone is encouraged to communicate

  • You coach them in their career development and provide actionable feedback

Besides managing the day-to-day activities of the team, you’ll need to create and maintain the vision on how we do BI and how the Data Analytics team fits in that vision. This includes advocating for this internally, winning others over when needed and remaining up to date on the latest developments in the modern data stack world. As a consequence, this means you should take full ownership of the technologies we use to:

  • Ingest data into our data warehouse

  • Implement our data modelling strategy

  • Make our analytical efforts consumable by a BI tool and/or business applications

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Hire, develop and coach an exceptional team of Analytics Engineers

  • Build partnerships with leaders across the organization to identify new opportunities to support the business with analytics and foster a data driven culture

  • Remain up to date with the latest developments in the modern data stack and recommend changes in our BI stack where appropriate

  • Work with your team and key stakeholders to plan, prioritize and execute analytical and strategic data projects

  • Help your team distill the findings of data analysis projects into crisp communications that enable both technical and non-technical audiences to use the results to take key business decisions

  • Ensure a high degree of data quality and reporting accuracy, including implementing standards and processes such as code reviews and dashboard validation


  • A history of working with an agile team and managing engineers or analysts

  • Excellent SQL skills

  • Ability to innovate, navigate, and execute in an ambiguous, highly dynamic, and highly demanding technology environment

  • Ability to work autonomously and keep peers and leadership informed about progress and blockers

  • A track record of building relationships with diverse business stakeholders across the organisation and demonstrated success in managing conflicting priorities

  • Leads by example, seek to understand through active listening and questioning, actively address problems you identify and assume responsibility for your work

  • Deep understanding of the modern data stack and experience with at least one tool in each of these layers (note that the list of tools is not exhaustive):
    • Cloud Data Warehouses: Bigquery, Snowflake, Redshift

    • Ingestion (ETL/ELT): Stitch, Fivetran, Airbyte

    • Transformation: dbt

    • BI: Looker, Mode, Chartio, Tableau

  • Experience working in a SaaS environment is a plus, but not required
