Looking for a Data warehouse Engineer to enable our data-driven decision making

OTA Insight is a commercial platform for the hospitality industry (our clients are AirBnb property owners, individual hotels and major chains like Hilton, Accor, etc.). And these are exciting times at OTA Insight! Our mission to bring smart decision making to the hospitality industry has levelled up as we recently raised another round of funding ($80 million) and welcomed two new companies, Transparent and Kriya, to our organisation to keep evolving our product portfolio! To reach our ambitions we need to even better understand our customers in order to effectively and efficiently keep on innovating. And for that we’re looking to add a Data warehouse Engineer to our Analytics Engineering team.


As a Data warehouse Engineer you’ll play a key role in building and maintaining our data warehouse. Together with the Analytics Engineers in our team and in close collaboration with the engineering team you will implement and advocate best practices and highlight opportunities for improvement and innovation.


As a Data warehouse Engineer you will…
  • Understand the fundamentals of our current data warehousing technologies and identify opportunities to improve our existing processes;

  • Keep up to date with the new releases in the industry and relevant technologies in this field to propose additions and changes to our infrastructure as needed to support changing business requirements;

  • Support the team in building a data governance framework to help our analytics engineers in building documentation to support our end users and simplify the use of our BI tool, identify the source of truth and make sure this can be accessed easily via other applications;

  • Designing, developing, deploying and maintaining our internal data warehouse infrastructure;

  • Identifying opportunities for automation of repetitive tasks within the warehouse to improve efficiency and reduce costs;

  • Designing and implementing data models to support business processes and business intelligence needs.

Job requirements

You'll be a great fit for this role if you:

  • have 3+ years of relevant ETL/ELT and data warehousing experience (BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, etc.), ideally cloud platforms;

  • can present concrete examples of your analytics skills within the context of data warehouse and data governance best practices;

  • have a proven track record in setting up and improving robust data warehouses / data lakes / data lake houses in collaboration with an Engineering team;

  • have a thorough understanding of the various database management systems available;

  • have knowledge on how to use algorithms (python scripting) to design data models (knowledge of dbt would be very welcome) and query languages (SQL is a must);

  • can work independently and handle accountability well;

  • are fluent in both written and spoken English;

  • having knowledge of dbt would be a big plus;

  • have an understanding with self-service Business intelligence (BI) governance using tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI and Qlik, Looker, etc.) can be an asset.
