OTA Insight is a leading business & market intelligence SaaS provider for the hospitality industry. Our clients include individual hotels and major chains like Hilton, Accor, IHG, etc. Today OTA Insight is present in more than 185+ countries around the world and has more than 55,000 partners.

Our engineering organisation located in Ghent, Belgium consists of 50+ high performing engineers. As part of our continued growth, we are looking to centralise multiple engineering teams into a vertical focussed on repeatable data integrations. Examples of such integrations are: web scraping public information e.g. hotel rate information, recurring datafeeds from partners e.g. search traffic data, recurring datafeeds from individual hotels e.g. reservation data. The Integrations team works with multiple stakeholders (product, partnerships) across the organisation to achieve our ambitious growth plans.

As an Engineering director of this strategic vertical, you are a product & technology leader within the OTA Insight engineering organisation. You are a strong technology voice and have proven experience in managing complex data integration projects. In addition you take on a People leader role and you are passionate about creating and nurturing an environment that enables people to do their best work, while ensuring business goals are met in an effective manner.


Your main responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Strategic management
    • Enable and lead your teams to define and own OTA Insight’s integration strategy and roadmap, ensuring they drive impact for our customers and our business and are in line with our company goals.

    • Ensure teams work with product management, design, research, data science and engineering to assess tradeoffs and feasibility in data sharing opportunities and objectives.

    • Help teams to identify data opportunities and develop plans including recommended actions for emerging technology, new market opportunities and business issues that present opportunities or threats to OTA Insight.

  • Manage day-to-day activities of multiple integration teams
    • Act as a sounding board towards team leads to help reach their objectives by providing constructive feedback on specific challenges related to their integration area or team

    • Support the existing Integration Management and Partnerships teams in discussions with new and existing partners regarding datasets OTA Insights is acquiring or can acquire to further business objectives

    • Help Integration Managers define, structure and own the commercial, engineering and setup processes related to data integrations.

    • Review technical issues and escalations and take action where necessary

    • Understand lower-level requirements for data and use thereof, both within internal teams as to external partners

    • Promote & enable a culture of excellence and responsibility of both your leads and team members

  • 5+ years working in a technology or product or integration management role
    • Experience in maintaining a roadmap & creating alignment between different departments

    • Can show extensive experience in data modelling and/or data integration

    • Experience and passion for exploring/visualising complex datasets independently as well in collaboration with data science

    • You have the ability to spot opportunities to formalise processes.

  • 5+ years managerial experience
    • A history of managing and growing agile teams

    • Able to lead, prioritise, delegate and inspire in an ambiguous, highly dynamic, and highly demanding technology environment

    • A track record of driving alignment with diverse business stakeholders across the organisation and demonstrated success in managing conflicting priorities

  • Pragmatic in problem solving and decision making

  • Excellent verbal and written English communication skills

  • Willing to acquire deep knowledge of how revenue management and distribution works within the hotel industry
