OTA Insight is a leading business & market intelligence SaaS provider for the hospitality industry. Our clients include individual hotels and major chains like Hilton, Accor, IHG, etc). Today OTA Insight is present in more than 185+ countries around the world and has more than 55,000 partners.

As part of the Engineering team, the frontend core team is based in our Ghent office and responsible for maintaining and improving our frontend architecture, UI/UX improvements across our full product suite and building new cross-product features. The purpose of the team is to make sure our frontend codebase is modern and scalable, and to provide a great, consistent user experience across all of our products.


As the lead of this team, you should set your team members up for success by making sure:

  • The time they spend on projects is proportional to the value of those projects

  • You create a safe environment in which everyone is encouraged to communicate

  • You coach them in their career development and provide actionable feedback


Besides managing the day-to-day activities of the team, you’ll need to create and maintain the vision on the frontend technical roadmap. You will drive new initiatives that will help improve the frontend infrastructure and developer experience of all frontend teams. This includes advocating for this internally, winning others over when needed and remaining up to date on the latest of frontend tools and technologies.


Next to this you will also help shape new UI/UX improvements together with the design team. This includes iterating on our design system. The goal here is to create a clear and consistent user experience across products. Our application should be easy to use and understand and it should enable our users to get quick insights into their data, your responsibility will be to help create a UI that enables them to do so.


And finally you will also manage developments that span multiple products. Here you will work together with our product and engineering teams to help define the best solution to the problem.



Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Hire, develop and coach an exceptional team of frontend engineers.

  • Experiment, think about and take ownership of different parts of our frontend architecture and find ways to improve it.

  • Iterate on our design system, in close collaboration with the design team.

  • Work on keeping a high technical standard, together with the rest of the team.

  • Work with your team and key stakeholders to plan, prioritise and execute new cross-product developments.

Requirements

  • Comfortable delegating work through a small team.

  • Ability to innovate, navigate, and execute in an ambiguous, highly dynamic, and highly demanding technology environment

  • A solid understanding of core web and browser concepts.

  • 3+ years experience with any modern frontend framework - we use Ember.js.

  • A desire to work on technical issues, thinking about and improving the architecture of multiple frontend projects.

  • Passion for leading-edge technology and proven track record researching and implementing new tech effectively.

  • Able to convey technical concepts in a concise and clear way.

  • Ability to work autonomously and keep peers and leadership informed about progress and blockers.

  • Leads by example, seek to understand through active listening and questioning, actively address problems you identify and assume responsibility for your work.

  • Experience working in a SaaS environment is a plus, but not required.
