Lead Backend Engineer

We are looking for a Lead Backend Engineer who wants to drive and own our internal platform roadmap. Ideally you have a couple of years experience in Python and Django, but we care less about how long you’ve been doing it and more about what you’ve been doing. Do give it a shot if you’re experienced in backend development with scripting languages and have a go-getter attitude. We’re eager to hear what you’ve created and how you helped make it a success.
You have a proven track record in mentoring and coaching other engineers, we’d love to see you share your skills with others and show us how we can improve:
You’ll scope and plan team sprints;
You’ll mentor and coach other engineers;
You’ll be the key technical stakeholder towards other engineering teams and product teams.

About the team
The team scales and manages services around the largest set of hotel’s metadata within the hospitality industry. They’ll design, implement and integrate the landscape required to support our business critical processes and flows. You’ll architect core abstractions (e.g. data and business modelling), backend components and a service landscape that enables other engineering teams to do their best work possible. Your future stakeholders are other engineers and power users on the business side.
You’ll be part of a highly skilled engineering team with hubs in Ghent and Madrid. We want to give you the best tools, equipment and atmosphere to work from wherever you want.
